Class Descriptions
Hatha Yoga
Using poses and breathwork to balance both body and mind, systematically ease stress and tension from your physical and mental bodies. Learn to increase awareness of the present moment and cultivate compassion for yourself and others. This is a wonderful and gentle introduction to yoga!
KidFit
Open to kids 4-12, this short class explores exercise in all its forms. Play and fitness combine for a fun way to stay in shape!
Cross Train, Jr.
Cross Training for the younger set! Open to kids ages 8-14.
Cross Train
Are you tired of the same old workouts? This program is for you! Cross Training is a strength and conditioning program that uses a mixture of high intensity aerobics, gymnastics (body weight), and weight lifting exercises to increase muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility overall improving individual fitness levels.
Restorative Yoga
This therapeutic class focuses on stillness and deepening into a pose to allow the muscles to relax and the soft tissues to open. Most poses are seated and held between 3 to 5 minutes to allow the body to soften. Restorative Yoga is rooted in the Taoist belief that energy (aka "chi") runs through the various meridians housed in our connective tissues and the practice helps release any blockages to allow the energy to flow freely. The generous use of props (blankets, bolsters, straps) to support the body allows gentle relaxation with gravity, rather than against it. Appropriate for all levels.
Prenatal Yoga
Prenatal Yoga applies postures, breathing, and meditation to help sooth the challenges of pregnancy, and to prepare expectant mothers for both delivery and postpartum recuperation. Yoga has been shown to help alleviate many of the common complaints that occur during pregnancy such as heartburn, swelling, back pain and sciatica- while also bringing a deep awareness and a sense of joy at experiencing the natural changes that occur during these 9 months.
