Amanda Stover has danced and choreographed professionally for more than 20 years. She received her B.F.A. and M.A. in dance and has been teaching dance to children for over a decade. With a young son of her own, Amanda's knowledge of dance technique, body mechanics, movement and motherhood combine to deliver a fun and energetic social experience for children of all ages!
Amanda Stover, E-RYT 200, came to yoga through her extensive dance career. As a student, performer and teacher of classical ballet, jazz, tap and modern dance she welcomed the noncompetitive nature of yoga and embraced the healthful benefits that a regular yoga practice provides regardless of age, size or ability.
After only a few hatha classes, Amanda discovered immediate physical improvements in her dancing, including better balance, increased stamina and heightened breath awareness. It was during her Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification in 2001 that Amanda fully opened herself to the true meaning of yoga, the union of body with mind and spirit. This discovery continues to be a transformative journey for her as she pursues her yoga practice on and off the mat.
She is passionate about teaching and encouraging her students to explore and show compassion for themselves through flowing asanas (poses), pranayama (breath work), meditation and deep relaxation. Amanda invites her students to breathe in the experience of yoga, get centered, and enjoy!
